Jim Dobbie -               Jim Dobbie    jogscotland Jog Leader of the Year 2007

I am the co-founder and coach coordinator for the strathclyde park jogscotland group and have been an active runner for nearly 25 years competing in various races from cross country, 5k,10k,half marathon and have completed 10 full marathons. I am a level 3 UKA endurance coach ( 10k/Marathon)and have a continuous coaching learning cycle which involves me in keeping up to date with the latest in coaching techniques. I have been involved in coaching for 15 years.

Pat Mullen  -               Pat Mullen    Co-founder of jogscotland Strathclyde Park.

I have been running as a sport for 12 years having played football and coached football for 20 years. I am a level 3 UK Athletics Coach for endurance and I get a kick out of the jogging groups. My main distance in running is probably marathon although I do run shorter distances like 10k. I have completed 14 marathons with a PB of 3 hours 14 mins. Along with Jim and Colin, I'm currently on the quest to complete the marathon BIG 5- New York, London and Boston, Berlin are in the bag which leaves Chicago on the horizon. I may be seen as a bit of a taskmaster but I only want people to do their very best each time they come to Jog Scotland or go to a race or come to Wishaw for a circuit session. To do anything less would be wrong and a waste of time and energy. As a co-founder of jogscotland at Strathclyde Park, to see people take that spirt and progress from just being capable of a 30 sec jog through to running one hour is brillianj and gives me huge rewards. I want to thank all of you who take part in the Jogging Groups from the coaches to the athletes for allowing me to express myself in your efforts and for allowing me to give you coaching advice.

Ishbel Dobbie -

Angela Mason -          Angela Mason Angela is our in house yoga expert and motivator!

Angela has been member for over 3 years and a Level 2 Coach. Competing in many local and national 10k's and half marathons she has recently completed her 2nd marathon (Dublin) in 4 hours 18 mins and training hard for the London Marathon in April.

Alistair Lunn -              Alistair Lunn

Have been running for 20 years now (I was a late starter after being a committed smoker for many a year) and joined Cumbernauld Athletics Club as a coach but moved to JogScotland when the younger ones started pushing me too hard. Became a level 2 Endurance coach and started entering a few races as a fun runner. I am also involved in both the Airdrie and Cumbernauld groups so run 6 days out of 7 usually and am still a fun runner who, for some unknown reason, has got slightly faster as I get older!! My daughter has volunteered me to run "9 races for 9 lives" in 2009 to raise funds for the local Cats Protection Adoption Centre - so watch out for me chasing you for money.

Jackie Fulton -
STRATHCLYDE PARK JOG LEADER OF THE YEAR 2007
Jackie has also completed her first triathlon in Edinburgh 2008 in an outstanding time of 2 hours 8 mins

Billy Carswell             -  Billy is the website designer. I've been a Jog Leader at Strathclyde Park for 3 years now. Level 1 Jog Leader + Level 1 Club Endurance Coach. I've run in 15 Half Marathons (PB 1HR 26) and several 10k (PB 38mins). 2 marathons  PB (3hrs 37m) and currently training for Edinburgh and New York Marathons 2009. I would recommend joining Jog Scotland to anyone who enjoy having a laugh and getting fit at the same time!.

Pamela Clements -  Pam Clements

I have been a member of Jog Scotland for 4 years and a Jog Leader for 2 years.  Over that time I have made many good friends and thoroughly enjoyed the social aspects of the club. Really love coaching and to date have participated in several 10k's, run the Arbroath Smokies and even completed a half marathon! Most memorable running event was jogging through the Nou Camp in Barcelona (Thank you Nicola!)

Pam is the Website administrator
Kirsty Leach -             Kirsty Leach

JOGLEADER OF THE YEAR 2008!!

Ged McDade - Pam Clements

For 5 years prior to joining Jog Scotland I had been running every weekday morning on a treadmill. As I had never run on the road before I did not see myself as a runner never mind joining a running group. However Jog Scotland is not like a running club. It is a fun, friendly and relaxed group. I've never looked back since.  I have been a Jog Leader for almost 3 years (2006) and I have just recently gained my UKCC Level 1 Endurance Coaching Certificate (Apr 09).

Since joining Jog Scotland I have made lots of fantastic new friends and I have also completed loads of 5k's, 10k's, Half Marathons and 2 Marathons. My best achievement to date is 1hr 51min for the half marathon and 51mins 48 mins(June 09) for a 10k, I'll keep you posted on my marathon time when I complete Amsterdam in October 2009.

I love being a Jog Leader/Coach at Jog Scotland being able to encourage people and make them believe in themselves is really fulfilling, I would and do recommend Jog Scotland to anyone.

Kim Charnley -  Also known as Sexy Kim she completed her first marathon in 4 hours 28 mins in Dublin and London Marathon in 2008.Kim has competed in many 10k's and Half Marathons.

Janice Gould -

Janice Gould - Also one of the "Dublin 10", completing it in 4 hours 50 mins. Janice also conquered Kilimanjaro in 2007 and more recently completed Berlin in 4 hours 51 mins. Well done Janice for your courage and determination.

Les Sharp -                     Les Sharp

Les has recently completed his 5th marathon in Inverness

Jean McCallum -

Jean (or wee jean!) is our latest jog leader recruit. She has been a member of the development team for several years. "I started running 8 years ago when I was talked into by friends into taking part in the Glasgow women's 10k, not then realising what an impact running was about to have in my life. I have went on to do a number of 10k's then stepped up to do half marathons. 4 years ago I joined jogscotland and this was when my running really changed. The support, encouragement and goals I have achieved would not have been possible without the help of the jogscotland team. Not forgetting the friends I have made along the way. Last year for me was my best ever (2007). I did PB's in the women's 10k, then 2 jog leaders ran with me in the Glasgow Half Marathon to help me achieve my goal of under 2 hours. I then, along with other members of jogscotland went onto complete the Dublin Marathon feeling great, something I thought I would never be able to do. I have also ran the Great North Run 7 times in 7 years and am aiming to do 10. I am now a jog leader, which when asked was very honoured to do. I hope I can now give my support and encouragement to everyone else at jogscotland. Jean has just completed her second marathon in Berlin - well done Jeanie!

Craig Rich-

Craig 1Craig 1Craig 2Craig 2

Everyone knows Craigie Boy. He was one of Jog Scotland's development coaches who, unfortunately for us, has emigrated to New Zealand in January 2009. He joined Jog Scotland in 2004 after coming along to offer moral support for Jackie his wife but ended up signing up himself. Jim and Pat recognised his potential and it wasn't long before he joined the coaching staff. Within a short space of time he was sent off on the Development Course and began instructing at that level too. Craig, as anyone who met him knew, was always extremely enthusiastic and full of encouragement with every group he coached.

Craig was also the cooldown king with a range of wide and varied stretches that kept us all supple. Also he was the only guy who could wear extremely short shorts even in freezing temperatures. Our loss is New Zealand's gain and we sincerely miss him. Thanks again for the wonderful ceilidh before you left, Craig!

Hope the signed Jog Scotland top and the voucher were useful. Enjoyed a wee blether on MSN the other night with Craig and he sends his love to everyone.
